Sinopanax formosanus is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Araliaceae family. It is the only species classified in the genus Sinopanax. This plant is endemic to Taiwan. It grows as a small evergreen tree, reaching a maximum height of 12 metres (39 ft). It can be found growing in open areas within mountain forests, at altitudes ranging from 2,300 to 2,600 metres (7,500 to 8,500 ft).
