About Schoenia cassiniana (Gaudich.) Steetz

Schoenia cassiniana, commonly known as Pink everlasting, is a flowering plant species belonging to the tribe Gnaphalieae of the family Asteraceae. It is native to Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory. It was first formally described in 1829 by Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupré under the name Helichrysum cassinianum, before being reclassified and transferred to the genus Schoenia by Joachim Steetz in 1845. This species is an annual herb that grows between 7 cm and 70 cm in height. It can be found growing on sandy, loamy, clay, and stony soils. Its pink and yellow flowers bloom from June through November each year.
