About Sabal uresana Trel.
Sabal uresana Trel., commonly called the Sonoran palmetto, is a species of palm tree. It is native to the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental in northwestern Mexico, where it occurs in the states of Chihuahua and Sonora. This species' specific epithet "uresana" references Ures, a town in Sonora that lies within the plant's native range. Sabal uresana is currently threatened by habitat loss.
