Roseodendron donnell-smithii, commonly called Primavera or Gold Tree, is a species of deciduous tree or large shrub in the genus Roseodendron, part of the Trumpet Vine Family Bignoniaceae.

Native Range and Size

It is native to Mexico and Central America, and can reach up to 25 meters (82 feet) in height.

Cultivation Use

It can be cultivated as an ornamental plant.

Leaf Morphology Trait

As noted by Kuck and Tongg, one unusual trait of this species is that juvenile plants produce palmate leaves, while mature trees grow pinnate leaves.

Flowering Characteristics

An abundance of yellow flowers bloom when the tree is leafless.
