About Rhigozum zambesiacum Baker

Rhigozum zambesiacum, commonly known as Mopane yellowthorn or Zambezi yellowthorn, is a shrub or tree belonging to the Bignoniaceae family. This species is native to Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. In South Africa, it can be found in KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga. Its distribution within South Africa specifically extends from northern KwaZulu-Natal, along the Lebombo Mountains to the Limpopo River Valley. The species also grows in the Zambezi River Valley. It inhabits low-lying bushveld and rocky areas.
