Its flowerheads are oblong, featuring a purple-black beard and black hairs located below the beard.
Habitat and Distribution
It typically grows in sandstone, fericrete, and granite soils, and occurs in the Western Cape of South Africa, ranging from Cape Town to Kleinmond.

This species is classified as near-threatened.
