About Pimelea nivea Labill.
Pimelea nivea Labill. is an erect shrub that typically reaches a height of 0.3 to 3.5 m (1 ft 0 in to 11 ft 6 in). Its young stems are densely covered in white hairs. Leaves are arranged in opposite pairs, with shapes ranging from elliptic to round. They measure 2โ16 mm (0.079โ0.630 in) long and 2.5โ12 mm (0.098โ0.472 in) wide, and grow on a short petiole. The upper surface of the leaves is glabrous, while the lower surface is densely covered with white hairs. A large number of flowers grow in compact clusters at the ends of branches. Flowers are most often white or cream-coloured, and rarely pale pink. The sepals are 2.0โ4.5 mm (0.079โ0.177 in) long, and the floral tube is 6โ10 mm (0.24โ0.39 in) long. Flowering takes place from September to February. This pimelea grows mainly on rocky hillslopes. It occurs in the Devonport-Waterhouse region, and between Hobart and South West Cape, where it is common and widespread.
