Periophthalmodon freycineti, commonly known as the pug-headed mudskipper, is a mudskipper species that belongs to the subfamily Oxudercinae, within the gobiiform family Oxudercidae.

Distribution

Its distribution ranges from the Philippines, through eastern Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, to northern Queensland.

Habitat and Diet

This species inhabits tidal creeks, mud banks, and inlets, and it preys on small fish, crabs, and other invertebrates such as insects.
