About Pericallis echinata (L.fil.) B.Nord.
Pericallis echinata (L.fil.) B.Nord. is an upright herbaceous perennial plant that reaches 30 to 50 cm (12 to 20 inches) in height. It has rounded leaves with toothed margins. Its inflorescence is made up of 5 to 15 flower heads, each measuring about 2 to 5 cm (0.79 to 1.97 inches) across, and each head bears 11 to 14 pink ray florets. This species is endemic to the Canary Islands, and occurs specifically on the island of Tenerife. It is most often found in northwestern Tenerife; large local populations grow in Cistus scrub and on rocky slopes along the north coast, and it is much rarer in the southern part of the island.
