About Nepeta sibirica L.

Nepeta sibirica, commonly known as Siberian catmint, is a flowering plant species belonging to the mint family Lamiaceae. It is native to Siberia. This plant is an erect, aromatic herbaceous perennial that grows up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) tall and 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) broad. It produces whorls of violet flowers that bloom for an extended period during summer. Its synonym Dracocephalum sibiricum refers to the shape of the plant's flowers, which resemble a dragon's head. It grows best in well-drained, moist soil, located in a sunny spot with a southerly or westerly aspect. Its cultivar 'Souvenir d'André Chaudon' has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
