Microlophus yanezi, commonly known as Yanez's lava lizard, is a species of lizard belonging to the family Tropiduridae. This species was formally described by Ortiz-Zapata in 1980.
Distribution
It is endemic to the Chilean Matorral, a region located within Chile.
Habitat and Altitude Range
The preferred natural habitat of M. yanezi is desert, and it can be found at altitudes ranging from sea level up to 2,800 meters (9,200 feet).
Reproduction
M. yanezi reproduces via oviparity, meaning it lays eggs.
