About Lomatium triternatum (Pursh) J.M.Coult. & Rose

Lomatium triternatum (Pursh) J.M.Coult. & Rose is a species of flowering plant in the carrot family, commonly called nineleaf biscuitroot. It is native to western North America, where its range extends from British Columbia to California to Colorado, and it grows in many different habitat types. This hairy perennial herb grows from a taproot and can reach up to one meter in height. Its leaves grow from the lower portion of the stem. Each leaf is typically divided into three leaflets, and each of these leaflets is further subdivided into three linear, leaf-like segments. The inflorescence is an umbel made up of yellow flowers. Each flower cluster sits on a ray that can grow up to 10 centimeters long, and the structure forms a flat cluster of umbels overall.
