About Lomatium brandegeei (J.M.Coult. & Rose) J.F.Macbr.
Lomatium brandegeei, scientifically named Lomatium brandegeei (J.M.Coult. & Rose) J.F.Macbr., produces compound umbels bearing yellow flowers that bloom from May to June. This species has a relatively short taproot, and its stems grow 20 to 60 cm tall. Its leaves are multiply divided, forming narrowly elliptical to obovate leaflets that have a dull surface and reticulate veination. Its glabrous, deflexed fruits measure about 1 cm long, and feature ridges along with narrow lateral wings. Lomatium brandegeei grows east of the Cascade crest in the Cascade Mountains, spanning from central to northern Washington and southern British Columbia. It occurs in sparsely forested to open areas.
