It has been recorded in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
Natural Habitats
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, rivers, and freshwater marshes.
Threats
This species is threatened by habitat loss.

Like other species in the genus Lithobates, it is sometimes reclassified under the genus Rana instead.
