Dorsal Coloration
This species of frog has a brown or bronze back, which sometimes has reddish brown spots.
Head Markings
It has brown spots on its lips, and frequently has a black stripe running over the tympanum.
Thigh Coloration
The rear part of its thigh is brownish, but can also have reddish coloring.
Male Secondary Sexual Characteristics
Males of this species have an internal vocal sac, along with one or more corneous spines on the thumbs and sometimes on the chest; these spines help the male grasp the female during amplexus.
Size
Males can reach a snout–vent length of 142 mm (5.6 in), while females can reach a snout–vent length of 146 mm (5.7 in).
