Ixia latifolia D.Delaroche is a perennial flowering geophyte that belongs to the genus Ixia, and it is part of the fynbos vegetation. This species is endemic to South Africa's Western Cape. Its natural range spans from the Koue Bokkeveld along the ridge of the Tankwa Karoo to the Klein Swartberg, and also includes the southern slopes of the Gamkaberg.
