Humans (Homo sapiens, whose scientific name means "thinking man" or "wise man") are the most common and widespread species of primate, and the only living member of the genus Homo.

They are great apes defined by hairlessness, obligate bipedality, manual dexterity with opposable thumbs and a precision grip, and high intelligence.
