Hibiscus grandiflorus Michx. is a woody perennial plant. On average, it reaches a height of 6 feet (1.8 m), and specimens have been recorded growing to an extreme height of 15 feet (4.6 m). It produces pink to white flowers that have a reddish purple center and yellow stamens. Its flowers are typically more than 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter. Its capsules are covered in velvety trichomes.
