About Heterotheca fulcrata (Greene) Shinners
Heterotheca fulcrata (Greene) Shinners, commonly called rockyscree false goldenaster, is a North American flowering plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It occurs in northern Mexico, specifically in the states of Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Zacatecas, as well as in the western United States, ranging from Arizona, New Mexico, and western Texas north to Wyoming and Idaho. Four varieties of this species are recognized: Heterotheca fulcrata var. amplifolia (Rydberg) Semple, which grows in Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, southwestern Utah, and southern New Mexico; Heterotheca fulcrata var. arizonica Semple, which grows from Nevada to Coahuila; Heterotheca fulcrata var. fulcrata, which grows from Wyoming and Idaho south to Arizona and Tamaulipas; and Heterotheca fulcrata var. senilis (Wooton & Standley) Semple, which grows in southern Arizona, southern New Mexico, western Texas, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Coahuila.
