About Hakea prostrata R.Br.

Hakea prostrata R.Br., commonly known as harsh hakea, is a shrub that reaches a height between 1 and 3 meters (3 to 10 feet). It has spreading branchlets, and its oblong-obovate, stem-clasping leaves feature prickly edges and a central vein. Within its native range, abundant sweetly scented white or cream flowers grow in axillary racemose inflorescences between July and October. Harsh hakea occurs across an area extending from Geraldton to Esperance, where it grows on hillsides, in shallow soil on granite outcrops, and on stabilised sand dunes.
