About Gynura aurantiaca (Blume) DC.

Gynura aurantiaca (Blume) DC. is an evergreen perennial plant. It typically grows 30 cm (12 in) tall. Its stems can grow upright, or recline against other objects, in which case they can reach up to 2 m (6.6 ft) in length. As a houseplant, its long trailing vines work well for hanging pots and similar arrangements. The plant’s leaves, stems, and bracts are dark green, and covered with soft purple hairs that give it a velvety texture. A single plant can produce 1 to 5 flower heads, each borne on its own individual stalk. The flowers have a rather strong scent. Each flower head contains several disc flowers that may be yellow, orange, or red, and it does not produce any ray flowers.
