About Gompholobium venustum R.Br.
Gompholobium venustum R.Br. is a slender, erect or sprawling shrub that typically reaches a height of 10โ50 cm (3.9โ19.7 in), and has hairless, glabrous stems. Its leaves are pinnate, measuring 15โ30 mm (0.59โ1.18 in) in length, and bear 15 to 19 needle-shaped leaflets. Each leaflet has one or two longitudinal grooves along its lower surface. The flowers are most often yellow or pink, and grow on glabrous pedicels 5โ10 mm (0.20โ0.39 in) long, with attached bracteoles 1.2โ1.6 mm (0.047โ0.063 in) long. The sepals are glabrous and 7โ8 mm (0.28โ0.31 in) long. The standard petal is 9โ10 mm (0.35โ0.39 in) long, the wings are 7.0โ9.5 mm (0.28โ0.37 in) long, and the keel is 8.0โ8.5 mm (0.31โ0.33 in) long. Flowering takes place from September to December, and the fruit is a cylindrical pod 9.0โ9.5 mm (0.35โ0.37 in) long. This species of Gompholobium grows on sandplains, ridges and outcrops in the Esperance Plains, Jarrah Forest, Mallee and Warren biogeographic regions of southern Western Australia.
