About Gompholobium ovatum Meisn.
Gompholobium ovatum Meisn. is an erect or prostrate shrub that typically grows 10 to 50 cm tall. It has egg-shaped leaves that are 20 to 45 mm long and 8 to 32 mm wide, with stipules around 3 mm long at the base of the leaves. Its flowers are mostly yellow or orange-red with brown, pink or purple markings, and grow on pedicels 22 to 40 mm long, with attached bracteoles about 5 mm long. The sepals are 10 to 13 mm long, the standard petal is 15 to 17 mm long, the wings are 10 to 15 mm long, and the keel is 9 to 12 mm long. Flowering takes place from August to December, and the fruit is a pod 10.5 to 11 mm long. This species of Gompholobium grows on flats and rocky slopes in the Esperance Plains, Jarrah Forest, Swan Coastal Plain and Warren biogeographic regions of south-western Western Australia.
