About Gompholobium marginatum R.Br.
Gompholobium marginatum R.Br. is a prostrate or low, spreading shrub with spiny stems, that usually reaches a height of 5 to 40 cm. Its leaves are palmate and sessile, measuring 10 to 25 mm in length. This species produces uniformly yellow flowers, which are carried on hairless pedicels 10 to 12.7 mm long, with attached bracteoles. The sepals are hairless and 5.5 to 8 mm long. The standard petal is 8 to 10 mm long, the wings 6.5 to 8 mm long, and the keel 6 to 7 mm long. Flowering takes place from August to November, and the fruit is a pod roughly 10 mm long. Gompholobium marginatum grows in gravelly or granitic soils, and is found in the Avon Wheatbelt, Esperance Plains, Geraldton Sandplains, Jarrah Forest, Mallee, Swan Coastal Plain and Warren biogeographic regions of south-western Western Australia.
