About Flaveria bidentis (L.) Kuntze

Flaveria bidentis, commonly called coastal plain yellowtops, is a plant species in the genus Flaveria of the family Asteraceae, originally native to South America. It has become naturalized across many regions worldwide, including Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, southeastern United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia. In the United States, it has been introduced to the states of Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. This species is an annual herb that grows up to 100 cm (39.5 inches) in height. A single plant can sometimes produce 100 or more flower heads arranged in a tightly packed cluster. Each flower head holds 3 to 8 yellow disc flowers, and may sometimes also contain a single yellow ray flower.
