About Erythranthe pulsiferae (A.Gray) G.L.Nesom
Erythranthe pulsiferae (A.Gray) G.L.Nesom is a species of monkeyflower that goes by the common names candelabrum monkeyflower and Pulsifer's monkeyflower. This species was previously classified under the name Mimulus pulsiferae. It is native to the western United States, ranging from Washington to northern California, and it grows in wet habitats such as streambanks. It is an annual herb that grows between 2 and 21 centimeters tall. Its leaves grow in a basal rosette and are arranged oppositely along the stem; each leaf sits on a short petiole and has an oval blade. The tubular base of the flower is enclosed in a ribbed calyx of sepals, which has tiny pointed lobes. The flower is roughly one centimeter long, and is yellow in overall color. It sometimes has red spotting, or pink-tinged white coloration in its mouth.
