Common Names

It is also known commonly as the Mongolia racerunner, and has the local names 표범장지뱀 in Korean, 丽斑麻蜥 in Chinese, and Монгольская ящурка in Russian.

Subspecies Status

This species is endemic to Asia, and two subspecies are currently recognized.

Geographic Range

Its geographic range covers China, Korea, Mongolia, and Russia.

Habitat Types

It occupies a wide variety of habitats, including desert, rocky areas, grassland, shrubland, forest, and freshwater wetlands.

Altitudinal Range

It can also be found across a broad range of altitudes, from 50 m to 3,400 m, or 160 ft to 11,150 ft.

Reproduction Mode

Eremias argus reproduces via oviparity.
