Dischistodus prosopotaenia (Bleeker, 1852) is a species of damselfish, commonly known by the common names honey-head damsel and honey-breast damsel.

Native Range

This species is native to the eastern Indian Ocean and the western Pacific.

Maximum Length

It can grow up to a maximum length of 17 centimetres (6.7 inches).

Coloration and Markings

Most individuals of this fish have a white breast, but a distinct yellow-breasted variant exists that also has a black blotch on each side of its body.

Habitat

Dischistodus prosopotaenia inhabits lagoons and reefs.
