About Dillwynia uncinata (Turcz.) J.M.Black
Dillwynia uncinata is an erect, spreading shrub that usually reaches around 50 cm (20 in) in height, and has upper stems covered in silky hairs. Its leaves are cylindrical, most measuring 3โ7 mm (0.12โ0.28 in) long and approximately 0.5 mm (0.020 in) wide, and grow on a petiole that can be up to 1 mm (0.039 in) long. The flowers form more or less sessile clusters of two to five, with each flower sitting on a 1โ2 mm (0.039โ0.079 in) long pedicel. The sepals are hairy and 4โ5 mm (0.16โ0.20 in) long. The standard petal is 8โ10 mm (0.31โ0.39 in) long, yellow with a red centre. The wing petals are slightly shorter than the standard, and the keel is the shortest of the petals and reddish in colour. This species flowers from September to November. It grows in heath, on dunes, and in swampy areas. Its distribution covers the south-west of Western Australia, south-eastern South Australia, and the north-west of Victoria.
