About Dillwynia glaberrima Sm.
Dillwynia glaberrima Sm. is a spreading or erect shrub that grows up to 2 metres tall. It has cylindrical leaves that reach up to 2.5 centimetres in length, each with a short, often recurved apex. Its bright yellow pea flowers have red markings, and are proportionately quite wide. In the species' native range, these flowers grow in dense clusters at the ends of wiry branchlets, appearing from August to December, which is late winter to early summer. After flowering, it produces pods 4 to 6 millimetres long that have sparse hairs. This species grows in woodland, open forest, heathy forest and heathland across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. It is widespread in coastal areas of these regions. For cultivation, Dillwynia glaberrima requires light shade and good drainage.
