Dalea pinnata, commonly known as summer farewell, is a flowering plant in the pea family. It is mostly found growing in Florida, and also occurs in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This species grows in sandhill, flatwoods, and scrub habitats, and blooms in late summer, attracting a variety of pollinators. It acts as a larval host plant for Zerene cesonia. Dalea pinnata is a short-lived perennial. Its buds are reddish, and its flowers are pinkish-white or lavender-white. It can grow to a maximum height of 2 feet, which is approximately 0.6 meters. The variety covered here is Dalea pinnata var. adenopoda (Rydb.) Barneby.
