Colutea orientalis Mill. is a species of leguminous shrub native to Europe and Asia. It is a deciduous, bushy shrub with grey leaves that grows up to 2 meters (6 feet) tall. In summer, it produces clusters of small yellow and coppery-red flowers; after flowering, green seed pods develop. Colutea × media is a hybrid between Colutea orientalis and Colutea arborescens.
