About Clinopodium grandiflorum (L.) Kuntze

Clinopodium grandiflorum is a perennial herb that grows up to 25 centimeters (9.8 inches) tall. It produces pink flowers and bears ovate green leaves. This species grows in selected mountain ranges of western and southern Europe, including the Massif Central, Alps, and Pyrénées, at elevations above 700 meters. It can be found growing in beech forests. It has two main uses: it can be added to cooking, and it is used in herbal medicine to treat bruises and cramps. In the Aubrac region of France, the plant is made into an infusion called "thé d'Aubrac" (Aubrac tea), where it is valued for its digestive properties.
