Geographic Range and Depth Habitat

It occurs along the eastern Pacific coast, ranging from Washington, United States to Ecuador, and can be found at depths down to approximately 280 metres (920 ft).

Maximum Recorded Length

This species reaches a maximum total length of 40.4 centimetres (15.9 in).

Genus Uniqueness

It is the only known member of the genus Chilara.
