Cheirodendron platyphyllum, commonly called lapalapa, is a species of flowering plant in the ginseng family Araliaceae.

Endemic Range

It is endemic to the Hawaiian islands of Oʻahu and Kauaʻi.

Size and Growth Form

This is a small tree that grows to 8 meters (26 feet) in height, with a trunk diameter that reaches 20 centimeters (7.9 inches).

Habitat and Elevation

It grows in wet forests and bogs, found at elevations between 670 and 1,520 meters (2,200 to 4,990 feet).
