Chaetogastra mollis is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Melastomataceae. It is native to western South America, where it grows in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Aimé Bonpland first described this species under the name Rhexia mollis. This original description was published in 1808 in volume 2 of Monographia Melastomacearum. One accepted synonym for Chaetogastra mollis is Tibouchina mollis.
