Ceiba schottii Britten & Baker fil. is a rainforest tree that grows in Guatemala and southeastern Mexico. It belongs to the subfamily Bombacoideae, within the family Malvaceae. This species can be told apart from other Ceiba species by its unusually large flowers. Its petals can reach up to 19 centimeters in length, and the full width of an individual flower measures 26 centimeters. Ceiba schottii is pollinated by bats.
