About Castilleja pruinosa Fernald

Castilleja pruinosa Fernald is a perennial herb that may sometimes grow bushy, reaching a maximum height of around 80 centimeters. It is covered in dense hairs, which gives it a gray-green color. Its leaves are lance-shaped, sometimes lobed, and grow up to 8 centimeters long. Its inflorescence forms a cluster of bright red or orange-red bracts. Flowers grow out from between these bracts; each flower is up to 2 to 3 centimeters long, is greenish in color, and has reddish margins.
