Castilleja lemmonii A.Gray is a perennial herb that grows 10 to 20 centimeters tall, and its entire structure is covered in glandular hairs. Its leaves measure 2 to 4 centimeters in length, and range in shape from linear to narrowly lance-shaped. Its inflorescence is composed of numerous greenish bracts with purple or pink tips. Small yellowish flowers emerge between these bracts.
