About Carmichaelia corrugata Colenso

Carmichaelia corrugata Colenso is a low-growing, leafless shrub that reaches 2 to 8 centimeters in height. It is made up of yellow-green branches with blunt orange tips, and forms a dense mat approximately 1 meter wide. Its branches measure 1.5 to 3.5 millimeters wide and are grooved. This species produces flowers that grow in pairs; the flowers are pink with a dark purple center. Flowering takes place from October to May, and fruiting occurs from November to June. It grows in gravel and sand soils, on stone and gravel ridges, river terraces, and river beds, and also occupies disturbed sites.
