About Carinascincus greeni (Rawlinson, 1975)
Nomenclature
The alpine cool-skink, scientifically named Carinascincus greeni, is also commonly known as the northern snow skink. It is a species of lizard belonging to the family Scincidae, and it is endemic to Tasmania, Australia.
Habitat Preferences
This species prefers natural habitats of rocky areas and freshwater wetlands, located at altitudes above 1,000 m (3,300 ft), above the tree line.
Reproduction
Carinascincus greeni is ovoviviparous, and produces litters of two or three newborns at a time.
