Distribution Range
It is found in tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region, ranging from East Africa to the Line Islands and the Tuamotus, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia and Tonga, and also occurs in the Hawaiian Islands.
Defense Mechanism
Like other members of the pufferfish family Tetraodontidae, Canthigaster solandri can rapidly inflate itself like a water balloon as a defense against predators.
Toxicity
The skin of this species is known to be poisonous.
