About Camissonia pusilla P.H.Raven

Camissonia pusilla P.H.Raven is a species of evening primrose that goes by the common name little wiry suncup. It is native to the western United States, ranging from California to Idaho, where it grows in sagebrush and other types of habitat. This plant is a petite, hairy, glandular annual herb that produces very slender erect stems that reach a maximum height of around 22 centimeters. Its leaves are linear in shape, have toothed edges, and measure 1 to 3 centimeters long. A nodding inflorescence produces flowers with yellow petals 2 or 3 millimeters long, which are usually spotted with red near their bases. The fruit of Camissonia pusilla is a straight or coiling capsule that can grow up to 3 centimeters long.
