Callitriche heterophylla Pursh, commonly known as twoheaded water-starwort, is a species of flowering plant in the family Plantaginaceae. This species is native to North America, where its range extends from Greenland and Alaska in the north, southward to Mexico. It is widespread across the United States. Its natural habitat includes a wide variety of wetland environments, such as ponds, streams, and mudflats. It typically grows in areas with still or slow-moving water. Callitriche heterophylla is an aquatic plant, and grows almost entirely submerged, with only its floating stem tips exposed above water. It produces very small flowers throughout its growing season.
