About Buddleja cordobensis Griseb.
Buddleja cordobensis Griseb. is a dioecious, densely branched shrub that grows 1โ2 meters high, and has grey fissured bark. Its young branches are terete and tomentose. It bears coriaceous, ovate leaves that are 2โ8 cm long by 0.5โ2 cm wide. The leaves are thickly tomentose on both surfaces, and grow from 0.5 cm petioles. Its deep yellow inflorescences consist of one terminal globose head and fewer than 9 pairs of additional globose heads. Each head measures 0.6โ1 cm in diameter, and holds between 12 and 25 flowers. The corolla tubes of the flowers are 3โ4 mm long. This species is considered to be closely related to B. araucana and B. aromatica. This shrub is not known to be cultivated in the UK.
