About Buddleja cordobensis Griseb.
Buddleja cordobensis Griseb. is a dioecious, densely branched shrub that grows 1–2 meters high, and has grey fissured bark. Its young branches are terete and tomentose. It bears coriaceous, ovate leaves that are 2–8 cm long by 0.5–2 cm wide. The leaves are thickly tomentose on both surfaces, and grow from 0.5 cm petioles. Its deep yellow inflorescences consist of one terminal globose head and fewer than 9 pairs of additional globose heads. Each head measures 0.6–1 cm in diameter, and holds between 12 and 25 flowers. The corolla tubes of the flowers are 3–4 mm long. This species is considered to be closely related to B. araucana and B. aromatica. This shrub is not known to be cultivated in the UK.
