About Buddleja cordobensis Griseb.

Buddleja cordobensis Griseb. is a dioecious, densely branched shrub that grows 1โ€“2 meters high, and has grey fissured bark. Its young branches are terete and tomentose. It bears coriaceous, ovate leaves that are 2โ€“8 cm long by 0.5โ€“2 cm wide. The leaves are thickly tomentose on both surfaces, and grow from 0.5 cm petioles. Its deep yellow inflorescences consist of one terminal globose head and fewer than 9 pairs of additional globose heads. Each head measures 0.6โ€“1 cm in diameter, and holds between 12 and 25 flowers. The corolla tubes of the flowers are 3โ€“4 mm long. This species is considered to be closely related to B. araucana and B. aromatica. This shrub is not known to be cultivated in the UK.
