About Brachyglottis lagopus (Raoul) B.Nord.

Brachyglottis lagopus (Raoul) B.Nord. can reach a maximum height of 45 centimeters, though most individual plants grow to smaller sizes. Its leaves grow in a rosette that lies flat against the ground, though rosettes may also become erect or spreading. Occasionally, plants produce multiple leaf rosettes. Mature leaves can grow as long as 25 centimeters, and they have variable hair coverage; most often, they are covered in a dense layer of trichomes. The plant's inflorescence can hold up to 50 yellow capitula, with each individual capitulum measuring 8 to 18 millimeters across. Each capitulum contains 8 to 18 ray florets and 14 to 72 disc florets. The plant produces fruit in the form of achenes, which grow up to 6 millimeters long and have a bristly setose pappus.
