About Bossiaea lenticularis Sieber ex DC.
Bossiaea lenticularis Sieber ex DC. is a slender, spreading shrub that typically grows up to 1 metre (3 feet 3 inches) tall, and is more or less glabrous. Its leaves are mostly circular, with a diameter of 2 to 8 millimetres (0.079 to 0.315 inches), and have stipules up to 1 millimetre (0.039 inches) long at the base. Flowers are 6 to 12 millimetres (0.24 to 0.47 inches) long. Each flower sits on a pedicel up to around 5 millimetres (0.20 inches) long, with a few bracts that are up to 1.0 millimetre (0.039 inches) long. Sepals are 4 to 6 millimetres (0.16 to 0.24 inches) long, joined at the base, with bracteoles attached to the pedicel. The standard petal is yellow with red markings, the wing petals are yellow, and the keel is dark reddish with a paler base. Flowering takes place from August to September. The fruit is an oblong to egg-shaped pod that is 10 to 30 millimetres (0.39 to 1.18 inches) long. This species of bossiaea grows in forest habitats. It occurs mainly in the Sydney region, and its range extends inland as far as Lithgow.
