Boana punctata, commonly called the polka-dot tree frog or dotted tree frog, is a frog species belonging to the family Hylidae.

Distribution

This species occurs across much of South America, and is also found in Trinidad and Tobago.

Size

It is a fairly small frog, with a snout-to-vent length of approximately 3–4 cm (1.2–1.6 in).

Habitat Types

Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical swamps, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, rural gardens, urban areas, and heavily degraded former forests.

Conservation Status

The IUCN does not consider this species to be threatened.
