About Ayenia euphrasiifolia Griseb.

Ayenia euphrasiifolia Griseb., commonly called eyebright ayenia, is a species of flowering plant. It is native to parts of central and south Florida. It can also be found in Cuba – the location where its type specimen was collected – and may occur in other areas of the Caribbean. In Florida, this plant grows in calcareous habitats, including pine rockland, marl prairie, and disturbed areas situated over limestone. Florida populations of this species are classified as the autonymic subspecies Ayenia euphrasiifolia var. euphrasiifolia. The populations found in Cuba are divided into two additional distinct subspecies.
