Athysanus pusillus (Hook.) Greene is an annual herb that grows up to 15 centimeters tall. It produces long, spindly stems that bear small, unassuming white flowers, and it flowers between April and May. After flowering, it develops tiny flat, circular green fruits fringed with prominent white hairs. This species is native to the western United States, and its range extends into British Columbia and Baja California. It grows in moist shallow soil on slopes and cliffs in lower mountain zones.
